But due to its difficulty in configuration, most people has chosen to avoid it.<br /><br />This blog will guide you on the configuration of the Fedora Linux 8 (latest version is 9). Basically Fedora Linux is capable of:<br /><br />- Co-exist and dual bootable with Windows XP<br />- Play video &amp; audio (including DVD if you have a DVD drive)<br />- Play streaming video &amp; audio<br />- Auto-mount Windows NTFS and FAT/FAT32 hard disk volumes<br />- Auto-mount plug and play devices like USB thumbdrives / hard disks<br /><br />Linux has all the tools FREE - Image Editing, Photo Organizer<br />, Web WYSIWYG Editor, OpenOffice apps (equivalent to MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint), CD/DVD Burning apps, games and tons of development tools.<br /><br />My Fedora Linux allows me to perform the following:<br />- Rip MP3<br />- Watch DVD movies<br />- Watch YouTube video<br />- Listening to my favorite Intenet radio streaming<br />- performing Internet Banking with Java plugin<br />- Read and write to Windows hard disk volumes<br />- Many more...<br /><br />As a start, you may want to get the latest Fedora Linux copy from http://www.linuxproject.org.http://www.hongcs.per.sg/Blogs/2008/05/welcome-to-linux.htmlnoreply@blogger.com (Hong Chin Siong)
